 Acrylic Plastic                        Back to Sheets

Acrylic plastic is created through the polymerization of acrylic esters. Acrylic is available in several forms, such as cast sheet, continuous cast and extruded sheet, and film.

  • Cast acrylic sheets are strong, stable, weather resistant, and thermoformable. Transparent, translucent, opaque colors, and different surface textures exist.
  • Dimensional shape, color, and transparency gloss are virtually unaffected with exposure to light.
  • Acrylic plastics are among the most scratch resistant plastics available.
  • The light weight and toughness of acrylic qualifies it for many jobs formerly held by glass.
  • Acrylic plastic is known for its attractive and glossy surfaces that are available in most colors.
  • Acrylic plastic is used for many items, such as aircrafts, boats, mass transit, architectural and protective glazing, internally illuminated outdoor signs, product prototypes, lighting diffusers, skylights, demonstration models, and point-of-purchase (POP) displays.
