 Nylon Plastic                         Back to Sheets

Nylon plastic (polyamides) is available in many compositions, with Nylon 6/6 and Nylon 6 being the most common. The automotive industry is the largest user of Nylon or Nylon parts.

  • Automotive industry is the largest user of Nylon due to its low friction, good abrasion resistance, and the ability to operate without lubrication. Under-the-hood components are examples of Nylon products.
  • Resistance to heat and fuels make Nylon also suitable for mechanical and electrical hardware.
  • Timing sprockets, speedometer gears, cooling fans, wire connectors, windshield wiper parts, door-latch hardware, molded fender extensions, steering-column lock housings, brake fluid reservoirs, and bearings are examples of automotive parts that are Nylon plastic
  • Nylon parts are also used in business machines, appliances, and industrial equipment.
