Phenolic
Plastic
Back to Sheets
Phenolic plastic is a combination of phenol and formaldehyde.
Phenolic has superior heat resistance, high heat deflection
temperatures, good electrical properties, flame resistance, good
dimensional stability, excellent mold ability, and good
water/chemical resistance.
- Phenolic plastic can meet special
requirements such as dimensional stability at high temperatures
(auto transmission valves), cracking resistance (pump housing),
stability in steam environments (steam irons, coffeemakers),
electrical resistance (high volt gears), or machining qualities
(fine tooth gears).
- Some applications that include
phenolic plastic are seen in aircrafts, motor housings, pistons,
handles for pots and pans, seals and gaskets, marine switch
board panels, thermostat housings, insulation washers,
communication instruments, gears, and radio or television
terminal boards.
